Ciencia y Educación en la Comunidad. Join with L@s GANAS to talk real-world issues, community action, environmental health, advocacy work, and career pathways. Featuring: Dr. Daniel Morales-Doyle, Associate Professor of Science Education at UIC. Dr. Morales-Doyle’s work explores: How science education can act as a catalyst for justice and sustainability; The sociopolitical dimensions of science curriculum and teacher training; How future STEM leaders can build equitable and sustainable communities

To inform your discussion... You're also encouraged to join in one of the "Toxic Tour" series – guided walking/bus tours to explore environmental justice issues in three of Chicago's Southeast Side. Learn how these communities have been disproportionately impacted by industrial pollution due to decades of discriminatory zoning practices. Pick-up location: UIC Student Center East, Halsted & Polk. Bus seating is limited.

Grad School Fair hosted by Office of Career Services. Representatives from a variety of local and national schools will be on hand to provide information on their graduate and professional programs in natural sciences, business, health care, engineering, humanities, arts, and social sciences, as well as professional programs in medicine, law, dentistry, and pharmacy. Attend and learn about a range of graduate and professional degree programs from a wide range of academic institutions.

FRIDAY, November 7
1PM-3PM [Field Trip – Art Institute of Chicago. Meet at ARC]
Art Institute Field Trip with guided tour hosted by a UIC Urban Health Program staff member, art aficionado, and docent. RSVP and bring your UIC ID and transit card. Meeting at 1pm, on the ground floor of ARC, to take CTA Blue Line together to downtown Chicago. the trip will conclude by 3PM at the Art Institute.
